Calgary Dental Bonding
Small fixes, natural-looking results

What can bonding fix?
Bonding is a versatile treatment for small cosmetic and repair concerns, including:
- Chipped or cracked edges
- Small gaps between teeth
- Uneven or slightly short teeth
- Minor shape or symmetry concerns
- Some types of discolouration
- Exposed root surfaces that cause sensitivity
Dr. Kan will look at your goals and your teeth and let you know whether bonding is the right fit or whether another option would serve you better.

Bonding or veneers?
Bonding is quicker, more affordable and more conservative than porcelain veneers, which makes it a great option for small changes. Veneers are more stain-resistant and longer-lasting, and they suit bigger changes to colour, shape or symmetry. Dr. Kan will explain the trade-offs honestly so you can choose what fits your goals and budget.
Thinking about whitening? Composite does not change colour with whitening. If you would like brighter teeth, it is usually best to whiten first, then match your bonding to your new shade.

Frequently asked questions about dental bonding in Calgary
How long does dental bonding last?
Bonding typically lasts several years before it needs a touch-up or replacement. Good habits and regular check-ups help it last longer.
Does dental bonding hurt?
Usually not. Because little or no tooth structure is removed, most bonding is done without freezing.
Can bonding be whitened?
No. Composite keeps the shade it was matched to. If you plan to whiten, do it before bonding so we can match the brighter shade.
How do I care for bonded teeth?
Brush and floss as usual and keep up with regular cleanings. Limit coffee, tea, red wine and smoking, avoid biting nails, pens or ice, and ask us about a night guard if you grind your teeth.
Can bonding close gaps between teeth?
Small gaps can often be closed with bonding. Larger gaps or bite concerns may be better treated with orthodontics or veneers, and Dr. Kan will explain your options.
Is bonding covered by insurance?
Coverage depends on why it is done. Repairs to chipped or damaged teeth are often covered, while purely cosmetic bonding may not be. We can check your plan for you.
